First Hanukkah, and Hanging with Friends

We celebrated our first Hanukkah last week! We only captured one pic of David and the menorah... most nights he wasn't all that interested in the lights or the singing, but he'll be an old pro by next year we're sure :)  (yes, that is a Christmas outfit he's wearing... VERY hard to find any Hanukkah onesies!)

Here are some other highlights from the past week:

Mom-mom baby-sat so I could get my hair done! First time I've been away from David for a 4-hour stretch - but he did awesome :) Here's a pic mom-mom snapped while she was playing with him:

The same day, David got all of his 2 month vaccinations - he was a pro at the doctor's office, getting a little fussy during all the poking and prodding, and cried during the shots (they were over in a flash thankfully!) but quickly calmed down and was sleeping in his carseat before we knew it. He developed a small fever and was unconsolable late afternoon, so we gave him a little bit of tylenol, and he was all better :)

Seeing David sad & in pain, even for just a short amount of time, made my heart break. Let's hope those are the last tears of sadness we see for a long long time! :)

The next day, Nana and Grandpa drove down for a surprise visit! Here's a shot of Nana with David:

And here are 2 shots of the family taken by Grandpa:

As evidenced by all of the bib-wearing, David is quite the drooler nowadays, soaking through 3-4 bibs a day! He of course doesn't seem to mind :)

On Sunday, my friend Jill came by for a visit, and David LOVED watching her being silly. Here's a little montage of their visit:

This week we went to see Katherine & Andy's new house! And hang with Mr. Benjamin. Here's a shot of David stealing a seat in Ben's chair:

We also got a visit from Kate and Mr. Taishi! (David has been SO popular!). Tai and Franklin got along swimingly. While I still have failed to get a pic of David with either Kate or Katherine, we managed to get a quick video of Franklin and Taishi playing a game of "chase" in our living room (not sure who's chasing who here!):

Can't wait for Ben, Tai & David to run laps around all of us in a couple more years!

This week, David also visited his daycare to meet all the teachers and have mommy take a test-drive at leaving David for a couple of hours to play with all his new friends. While he slept most of the time we were there, he appeared to be pretty happy with all the fun new toys and people to look at when he woke up. Here's a pic of David at the big-kid table... I can't believe this is our little baby!

After a full day of fun, David (& daddy) were exhausted:

Finally, some requisite bath pics of the little guy - needless to say, bath-time is still one of my favorite times with David :)

And since we've been doing lots of tummy time, here's one last shot of the week (David likes to look at himself, so we hold up the iPhone so he can look at the camera, and that's when we snapped this shot - apparently he likes making funny faces at himself!):

Cousins!

Last weekend David got to help Aunt Lauren celebrate her baby shower - he can't wait to see if he's going to have a boy or girl little cousin to play with!

Here he is with Aunt Lauren, who's sporting a nice 7 1/2 month belly!

And making his blog debut is Uncle Sean! David thought daddy was the tallest person in the world, until he met Uncle Sean! David couldn't stop staring :) And Sean was a natural holding him - but unfortunately none of those pics came out. Luckily we'll take another go at it on Christmas :)

David also got to spend some quality time with mommy's cousins who came over to our house for a visit. Here he is taking a ride on my cousin Karen's fancy walker:

And here he is with their sister Sue (at Lauren's shower) to complete the Larry Delaney cousin photo shoot :)

2 Months!

At a whopping 2 months old, David is cooing and clicking and giggling and smiling galore :) People tell us he seems like such a 'happy baby'... & we hope that's what all these giggles mean! We also think he's going to be a big talker, since he holds lengthy 'conversations' with us all the time (his favorite "word" is "hello!"). And he's a singer too - when you sing a song to him he can't help but coo and 'sing' along with you :)

He loves doing FaceTime with Nana and Grandpa, loves the car (but not as much as Franklin - no one loves the car as much as that guy), loves to take your hand and shove it in his mouth, loves sticking out his tongue to see your reaction. He loves eating (still eats every 2-3hours during the day, and goes anywhere from 4-7hrs overnight; and he takes the bottle easily, as long it's nice and warm), loves bath time, and massage time (especially his back and legs!), and is becoming quite the little flirt.

He's wearing lots of 6-month onesies now to fit his crazy long torso, and his belly is starting to catch up now too - everyday there's a new roll that pops up!

Overall, I'd say his first 2 months have been pretty awesome. And of course his daddy & I think he's just the best :)

Here are some pics from our adventures over the past couple of weeks:

Napping with big bro Franklin

Ready for his first mini snow storm
Our snowy backyard

Another sleepover with Laura...

... and Cara!

Playing so hard he fell asleep

Outgrowing everything, including the bassinet!

Lots of laughs..

...and just a few pouty faces

Growing enthralled with his piggies..

...and me getting my piggies warmed by Mr. Franklin while David nurses.

He's enjoying all of his cool toys!

And we took a walk on the power line trail in Horsham for the first time too.

And last but not least, here are our attempts at his 2 month photos. Maybe by a year-old we'll have nailed this picture op!

Update:
David's 2 month stats from our 12/14 doctor's visit: 24" long, 13lbs 3oz
David got his first round of vaccinations and did great. He got a small fever and a little fussy in the afternoon but calmed right down after a small dose of tylenol and some love & hugs from mommy and mom-mom :)
