First Thanksgiving

David got to celebrate his first Thanksgiving twice this year - once with the McSorleys and then again with the Funts. And we got to hang with the Bodners to top off the weekend.. LOTS of quality time with the family = LOTS of pictures :) Here we go!

First up, McSorley Thanksgiving. Unfortunately Aunt Lauren had to spend time with her in-laws this Thanksgiving, but that meant lots of turkey and sides for mom-mom, pop-pop, mom & dad! Here's a pic of David helping out in the kitchen while pop-pop worked on the bird:

Here's David eagerly awaiting dinner to commence:

After dinner, we snapped a quick family portrait:

and for kicks, here's a flashback to our 2011 Thanksgiving with our first baby (it's true, a 12wk old puppy can be more work than a 7wk old human! Pretty sure we're the same amount of tired in both of these pics :) ):

Last up, a shot with big-bro Franklin, mom-mom and pop-pop before they headed out Friday morning:

Now onto our Funt Thanksgiving! We all took turns entertaining David during our Hand & Foot tournament. Here's Nana capturing David's attention :)

Here's daddy being silly & hanging out in David's play-mat:

And finally night-night with Uncle Jason:

Grandpa & Nana both got some QT with the little guy before we all took off Saturday to celebrate cousin Sarah's engagement.

Looks like one pretty happy grandkid!

Next up, our first overnight stay in a hotel up in Chambersburg, PA. Luckily David does great in the car. He also didn't seem to mind the accommodations:

Before heading out to the party, daddy took a quick snooze with the little guy:

David got LOTS of ladies' attention Saturday night. He got to meet his 2nd-cousin Sue:

And almost got stolen by 2nd-cousin Gwen (aka the baby-whisperer!):

Sam's checking out the new youngest cousin in the Bodner clan:

As usual, I forgot to get a picture of David with the guests of honor, Sarah & Cory! If they don't make it back East again before the wedding, we'll make sure to get one in June in California when they're getting hitched :)

When we made it back home, we took a nice long nap on the couch with daddy:

Here are some other shots from the past couple of weeks. Here's David doing some more tummy time (he passes out after about 5 minutes - must be a tough workout!):

David is also sleeping in the crib full-time now! Very exciting. Here's the little guy on his first night. He loves watching the projector on the ceiling - lulls him right to sleep :)

And we're still going on walks with big brother Franklin. Here is David with his awesome bear hat (thanks Erika!):

Last but not least, here's some video of David's new trick, sticking his tongue out:

Friends & Family

David started off last week with a trip up to Connecticut to see Nana and Grandpa Funt, and to meet his other 2 fur-brothers, Truman (Franklin's older brother) and Brady, and all of his other admirers in Stamford! Unfortunately I was too busy socializing and forgot to grab pictures of everyone... but I did get this one of Truman and David getting acquainted (luckily they all got along great!):

Later in the week, we finally got to meet up with my friend Amy, who was due a week before me, and had her daughter, Alicia June, a week before David (similar story as us - they went to the Dr. a week overdue and got sent to the hospital for induction). My sister just happens to live halfway between my house and Amy's house, so we met up at her place, and had a great afternoon introducing David and Alicia! Here are some of my favorite shots:

Aunt Lauren & David (David can't wait to meet the little nugget in Aunt Lauren's growing belly!):

Amy and Alicia:

David and Alicia in their matching rock & plays:

(there was a fascinating ceiling fan that was capturing both of their attention)

Here's a fun before and after of me and Amy:

and a few final shots from the visit:

Later that night, my friend Laura came and hung out with us while Josh was out of town. Laura's quite the natural :)

And finally, here's a close-up of the little guy from week 6. He's still a big fan of bath time (& the massage that follows!) :)

One-Month Birthday

It's hard to believe how much our lives have changed in just one little month!

David celebrated his birthday by going to vote with mommy on election day. Not sure if he was the youngest voter in PA, but he's gotta be pretty close!

David also stayed up and watched the election results with mommy & daddy - I think he was pretty happy that President Obama won the election, but we'll ask him once he's older to find out for sure :)

We tried a lot of different things to capture a perfect "1-month" picture... These are probably the only monthly shots we'll be able to take in this little napper - he's already too long for it!

And here is our attempt at sitting David next to Franklin, so we can gauge his size as he grows. I'd say it was a failed attempt.. but hopefully once he's sitting up on his own, we can try it again :)

Other milestones from David's first month include lots of fun smiles and giggles. He always gives us a few smiles on the changing table in the nursery:

And on his play-mat:

We've been doing some tummy time:

And spending time getting used to the crib during nap-time (for now, David's still spending most of the night in the rock-n-play in mommy & daddy's room..):

And we finally collected pictures of the awesome people who helped bring him into the world. Here he is with our birth doula, Naomi Lara:

With our nurse, Kristin Roddy (at David's first Walk to Defeat ALS; it was cold and windy, so we left David in his little wind bubble!):

And with our OB, Dr. Joe Murphy:

A pretty fantastic group of people, to say the least!

Speaking of the ALS walk, here's another pic of some of my awesome family at the walk standing at my Aunt Lorraine's sign and cousin Karen's sign (how I failed to get a pic of David & Karen is beyond me! Will need to rectify that soon!).

And last but not least, here's a quick shot of me with my 2 big boys. Everyone asks how Franklin is doing, getting used to his new little brother and all; he is doing fantastic :) He grows less and less interested in licking David, but more and more protective of the family. Hard to believe just over a year ago I didn't have either of these guys. So thankful I have them in my life now :)
